Welcome back to Synchroland!
Now that the team practices have started, the girls will be spending a lot of their time at the pool developing their endurance by conditioning (lengths). I am sure this is the part of training that most of the girls enjoy the least, but it is what makes the routines easier to swim once the choreography is complete. It is also a great way to develop the overall fitness level of each of the swimmers.
The girls will also be reviewing basic skills and figure transitions. This is the part of the practice that the coach ‘bangs’ on the black pole. We do this to help the girls develop Synchro the skills by repetition. Last but not least, a portion of each practice will be dedicated to ‘creating’ the routines. This is the FUN part of Synchro. Along with their coaches, the girls are working on choreographing all of the moves (upright and upside down) to their routines.
Each of the routines has a theme that has corresponding original moves. These movements put together with the music results in a magical Synchronized Swimming routine. We the coaches are excited to be working with the swimmers and are looking forward to a great Synchro season. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to discuss with your daughter’s coaches or myself.
